I will meet you with an open mind wherever you are, offering a safe space where you can feel comfortable to share your struggles. I will cater our sessions to your specific needs, following your cues regarding the ground you’d like to cover in each session. I have over two decades of experience working with a vast array of individuals and couples in a wide variety of settings and situations. I offer a combination of professional training along with a faith-based perspective and trust in God’s ability to change and heal from the inside out.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal as a counselor is to help you identify the issues causing you distress, process your emotions, and develop coping skills to allow you to move forward. I hope that as a result of our time together, you will develop a deeper understanding of the underlying issues that concern you, learn the necessary tools to overcome those issues, and gain peace to walk in your God-given purpose.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I will make every effort to meet you where you are. Once we have developed rapport, we’ll begin to delve into the issues that brought you into therapy. You can expect my undivided attention and sincere desire to learn what you are hoping to gain from therapy. What you decide to share with me will guide the way I approach you and your particular situation. No matter your circumstances, I offer empathy, compassion, and professional experience as we partner together to address your concerns and reach a better place.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
I believe that the benefit to Christian counseling is the ability to integrate one’s faith into the counseling process. Many people have a strong faith and belief in God, but struggle with how their relationship with God can help them deal with their issues when things are not getting better. As a result, they either utilize their faith and belief system or secular counseling services. My faith is an integral part of my life. I rely on my relationship with God to guide me in every area of my life, but also realize that there is a place for counseling to help process feelings and experiences that have negatively impacted us.
Qualifications & Experience
I’ve been counseling professionally for over 20 years.I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. My training also includes experience working with children and youth as a Foster Care Social Worker as well as working with chronically mentally ill adults at a mental health clinic in the adult day treatment and adult outpatient programs.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I decided to pursue a career as a counselor after working as the Intake Coordinator at a foster family agency. I had the desire to follow the children I placed in foster homes to ensure that they were getting the treatment and care they needed. I asked my boss what I needed to do to be a social worker, and she told me I needed to get my Master’s degree. I returned to school for my Master’s degree and was promoted to Social Worker very shortly after starting my program. I have always had a passion for helping others, and advocating for children felt very natural to me.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
My extended family is very important to me. I enjoy spending time with relatives and friends, traveling to the beach (especially tropical locations), and trying new restaurants.

As a woman, I have experienced the feelings of inadequacy, the pain of broken relationships, and self-esteem issues that resulted from them. As we work together, my goal is for you come to the realization that you are enough and with God all things are possible.
I lost my father to a chronic illness, and there was nothing at the time that could have prepared me for the feelings and loss that I felt. I understood the stages of grief, but not the intensity of the feelings within each stage. I have been able to make peace with my father’s death and developed the coping skills to manage the feelings related to the void left behind. It would be a privilege to come alongside you as you learn to process your own grief and loss.
Communication and commitment to God, yourself, and your relationship are the most important elements in a successful relationship. I can help couples identify the core issues and assist with learning their partner’s love language to aid in developing and maintaining a healthy relationship. I want to help couples understand that it will not always be easy, but will always be worth the fight to keep your relationship strong.
Depression is the most talked about form of mental health. However, it is also the most minimized. Depression is co-ocurring with many of the traumatic issues that we experience in our lives and must be addressed. If you’re experiencing depression, you are not alone. Many others are experiencing some of the same feelings. Talking about it with others can help you address the issues and find ways to cope with the causes of your depression.
